Warm and Furry News– A Perfect Home for Peanut
Many of you may remember the animal cruelty story about Rex, the Boulder Shiba Inu dog that was bound and taped to a refrigerator during a domestic dispute in April 2009. Rex, now named Yoshi which means “good luck” in Japanese, is doing very well in his new home with a Castle Rock couple and another Shiba Inu. What you may not remember is that another dog – a sweet Chihuahua puppy named Peanut – also lived in this home with Rex and was surrendered by her guardian with Rex to Boulder Police following this incident.

Humane Education Happens All Year: Camp Muddy Paws Mini-Camps
It’s so delightful to see the wonder and excitement in children’s eyes when they learn something new about animals or see an animal respond to their voices and touches. Our Humane Education programs at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley are teaching children how to care for animals while instilling in them the characteristics of kindness, respect and empathy for companion animals.
