The Humane Society of Boulder Valley is seeking a dynamic fundraising professional inspired to make an immediate and tangible impact on the lives of companion animals.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a proven track record of successfully managing a comprehensive fundraising program and a variety of campaigns from annual gifts to major gifts, capital projects and events. He or she will have excellent communication skills to convey a compelling mission and inspire philanthropy from any audience. This individual will understand and create lasting and rich relationships with donors and successfully expand the network of support through prospecting, cultivation and stewardship. He or she will develop strong connections in the Boulder Valley community and will be an excellent ambassador for the organization. This individual will leverage a strong community presence through communications and public relations to increase awareness of programs and services and encourage engagement of stakeholders through financial assistance and advocacy for the animals we serve.
Position Overview: The Vice President of Development manages and directs the design and implementation of all fund raising and communication activities for HSBV to include strategic planning and department budget preparation. The current fundraising goal for this department is $2.3 million annually. The person is an exemplary leader; supports the mission, goals and management philosophy of HSBV. Education, Experience, and Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in non-profit management. Minimum 3 years of proven successful experience in the area of fund raising, development, and direct solicitation. Minimum 3-5 year management experience. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; effective public speaking and presentation skills preferred. Must be computer literate in a Windows environment.
