Our Adoption process has changed! Our Virtual Adoption Center is open for application submissions 7 days a week, from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. We are unable to accept applications and inquiries outside of these times. To begin the adoption process, please fill out an online questionnaire and a staff member will be in touch with you to schedule your appointment. For more information, please view this page.

Please do not abandon donations outside of these hours. Abandoned items impede our ability to provide critical care to animals in need, and are expensive to dispose of.

Boulder Animal Protection

COVID-19 Information: The HSBV animal care team is prepared to provide ongoing support to the pets of community members impacted by COVID-19 by sheltering dogs, cats, and small animals. If you are in need of assistance, please contact City of Boulder Animal Protection or your local agency. We are coordinating with area animal agencies and human service organizations to facilitate deployment of food, pet supplies, medical care, and animal transport as necessary.

For calls regarding a stray or injured domestic animal in the city limits of Boulder, please contact City of Boulder police dispatch at (303) 441-3333. To report domestic animal conflict such as nuisance barking, general questions, and non-emergencies, please call Boulder Animal Protection directly at (303) 441-1874.
