Originally from Los Angeles, Elle earned her B.A. in Biology from Colorado College before moving to Hawaiʻi, where she lived for over a decade and earned her M.Ed. in Learning Design & Technology from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Her background in biology and education eventually came together through dog training and behavior, combining her interest in how animals learn with her love of teaching people.
Before joining HSBV, Elle spent several years working with dogs and their families in Hawaiʻi. She especially enjoys behavior modification and helping people understand the reasons behind their dogs’ behavior. One of her favorite reminders is, **“You don’t know what you don’t know,”** reflecting her belief that learning more about behavior can change how we understand and work with our animals. She is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC) and Animal Behavior College Certified Dog Trainer (ABCDT).
Outside of work, Elle enjoys training and competing in dog sports with her dogs, Miro and Maki, including agility, Fast CAT, rally, scent work, Barn Hunt, and hopefully soon, dock diving. Her desire to continue learning and become more involved in dog sports helped bring her back to Colorado.
